IPL Auction 2023: New Zealand cricket team’s star batsman Kane Williamson has been associated with Gujarat Titans for the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Gujarat has bought Williamson for his base price of Rs 2 crore. Williamson’s name came first in the auction, but the teams did not show interest in his name and Gujarat has joined Williamson in the base price of only two crore rupees.
Why did Hyderabad release Williamson?
Kane Williamson, who played as captain for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2022, played 13 matches for the team, scoring 216 runs at an average of 19.64. During this, his strike rate was also only 93.51. After this performance, Hyderabad released Williamson and now this will be the first time that he will be seen playing in the IPL for a team other than Hyderabad. Williamson has had a very good IPL career so far and he can prove to be very good for Gujarat’s middle order.
